Welcome to the second follow-up event of the Social Tools 2018 conference. Since new practices cannot be established during a weekend workshop we decided to host 6 training sessions. The program for this 6 sessions will be based on the “12 Patterns of Decentralized Organizing” as outlined by Nat and Rich in their workshop.
Session 2 will focus on Patterns 9+10: “Make Decisions Asynchronously” and
“Agree on Your Communication Tools”.
Pattern 9 makes the case for moving a lot of discussions into an asynchronous online space; that frees face to face meeting time for bonding, complexity, brainstorming.
Pattern 10 describes the “trinity” of communication tools a decentralised organisation most likely will need. Since it will be difficult to get people agree on specifc tools, it is useful to generate agreement first on the necessity of this “trinity” of tools.
We will follow up from SESSION 1 and will practice the Sociocratic Consent Method.
The event is intended as peer learning session where we will exchange experiences and practices from our different backgrounds. We will do some exercises and deepen our understanding of the patterns. The session will conclude with a Case Clinic. These sessions are open to anyone – not only Social Tools conference participants. Some refreshments will be provided.
